The Oregon Reintegration Summit (9th semi-annual) was held in Salem at the Anderson Readiness Center (ARC) with attendance from around the state and included staff from the WA Ft Lewis WTB.

The scope of the session included the Oregon legislative intiatives, VA programs and support, OMD misisons.

On 9 May an Oregon Military and Family Appreciation Day will be held across the State with a main gathering at the State Capital.

Great news update on the legislative status of this bill from Mark San Souci.

The Washington State Senate here just voted for the Interstate Compact for Military School Children, SB 5248, by 45-0-2. Joining the House 96-0 vote from last week, the Senate voted for the compact! We are almost there in leveling the playing field for our military kids!

Joint Family Support Assistance Program (JFSAP)

The Joint Family Support Assistance Program (JFSAP), implemented as a result of the FY-07 Defense Authorization Act, Sec. 675, augments existing family programs to provide a continuum of support and services based on member and family strengths and needs and available resources. The primary focus of support is families who are geographically dispersed from a military installation. Services are delivered in local communities through collaborative partnerships with Federal, State, and local resources.
